You know the drill now! The end of the month means new info about Space Marine 2!
Let us reveal some of the content of Patch 15, the Community Event and a few words about modding.
We’re working on Patch 15, making sure everything is ready before it reaches your hands. In the meantime, let’s dive into some of the content coming with this update:
As you know, Chaos Siege Mode is coming with Patch 15 bringing a new challenge to the game. In this mode, you’ll play with Chaos Space Marines on a brand new Siege map located on Avarax. You’ll face Tyranids and Loyalists waves, receive the support of Chaos Cultists and Ritualists, and you’ll be able to deploy a Helbrute to wreak havoc on the battlefield.
We’re adding the One-Hander Thunder Hammer, a fast weapon that can transition between single target and area attacks. Available for the Tactical (! more info below), Assault, Bulwark and Techmarine classes.
“The Crucible awaits, Brother. Will you submit to the test?”
A new game mode will also be added: the Crucible Mode.
Talk to our beloved Chapter Chaplain to set up your Penance before going into an Operation. Penances are personal debuffs that will make your mission even harder. They will grant you Purity XP if you succeed the Operation, which will let you unlock unique customisation items and armour parts.
Each Penance has a tier, each with its own set of challenges and rewards. The more debuffs you pick, the more XP you get, but the harder the challenge, so choose wisely! Since Crucible is designed to be an end game challenge, your class must be level 25 to participate.
We teased it in a previous Community Update, the Tactical class will receive a major rework to support more versatile playstyles. His Perk Tree in particular will be more diverse and will allow for more creativity in the build. A frequent request was to expand his melee arsenal: it will now be possible to equip a Power Sword, Power Axe or One Handed Thunder Hammer at the expense of his Primary Weapon for a melee build.
If you’re more into distance fights, a Class Perk will allow you to replace your Secondary Weapon with a Primary Bolt Rifle.
A few community updates ago, we told you that we were working on “something we should have done a long time ago”. The something in question being: Cape Recolour. Take a first look:
Work in progress, final version subject to change.
First of all, we’d like to thank you for these two incredible years of Space Marine 2, and for your continued support throughout this journey. The enthusiasm you’ve shown for the game and its updates continues to motivate us to keep bringing new content and experiences to the battlefield.
As we reach this two-year milestone, we’re excited to share that the Second Anniversary Update will arrive early October! 🎉
And that’s not all: Season Pass 3 will also be available on the same day, bringing even more content for you to discover following the same formula as for Year 2 and Year 1.
We’re really excited about what’s coming, and we hope you’ll be just as excited to join us for another year of Space Marine 2! And as a little token of appreciation, we can confirm that yes, you’ll have your Greatsword in Year 3.
The Community Event of the month is live since yesterday! You have until September 8 to complete 3 Chaos PvE missions (Vox Liberatis, Reliquary, Fall of Atreus, Obelisk, Vortex, Disruption or Purgation) to earn 100 accolades and 150 requisition points.
Onward, Space Marines!
